Omphalis is named for the Greek word for a navel: the centre of a thing. It is where the things you choose to keep get cleaned up, given a shape, and connected to each other. There are five places, and only five. Today, Inbox, Library, Connections, and Settings. A Space is a separate world of reading, with its own Inbox and its own Library. This one is called Home. A Collection is a grouping you choose. An item sits in one at a time. A tag is a label instead, and one piece can carry several of them. A Trail is neither. It is an inquiry that keeps growing as new pieces arrive. Inside a long piece, Strata is its shape: the moments it moves through, each one typed and named. The dotted underlines are annotations, and they are sparing on purpose: only where the wording can carry one. Keep one and it becomes a mark. Every piece has a marks rail, and it splits them: yours, and the system's. They gather across the whole Library on one page: highlights you made, and annotations you kept from your reading. Connections is what your pieces have in common. A Bridge is one that reaches from this Space into another. And anything that costs is priced in comprehension units, a monthly allowance the product shows you before it spends any of it. That is the whole vocabulary. Everything after this is one of them, working.
