• The five surfaces — Today supports a finite daily return; Inbox receives material; Library keeps it; Connections relates it; Settings controls preferences and integrations.
• Bring content in — Add a URL from Inbox or the browser extension, import a supported document or recording, or receive subscribed material in Inbox. Keep moves chosen material into Library custody.
• Clean: one reading surface — Clean is the format-specific extraction foundation that produces one calm, faithful reading surface without rewriting the source.
• Strata: see the shape — Strata is a structural map of typed moments in the full source. It supports orientation and return without replacing reading or listening.
• Marks: Source, Define, Expand — Source traces support, Define explains a local term, and Expand adds relevant context. Marks are deliberately sparse and high precision.
• Listen without losing your place — Listen is an action on content, not a separate surface. It delivers the same source in audio and preserves a route back to reading.
• Keep, find, return — Keep gives an item Library custody, Find narrows by reliable metadata and organization, and Return restores useful context and position.
• Chapters when the source has them, Strata when it doesn't — Chapters only appear when a source declares a real outline that passes a quality check; otherwise Strata maps the shape of the piece instead of an invented chapter list.
• Ask a question — Ask answers a plain-language question and lets you choose the scope: the current item you are reading, the current Space, all your Spaces, or how Omphalis works. Every answer cites its sources. It differs from Learn more, which returns a deeper explanation of a single passage you select.
