Let someone else read a notebook

Share a read-only copy, in the notebook menu, produces a link. Anyone who has it can read the notebook, and nobody who has it can change it. There is no account to create and no request to approve: the link is the permission, which is worth knowing before you send it anywhere.

The page is a live window rather than a copy frozen at the moment you shared. It follows the notebook as you edit, so a reader who returns sees what the notebook says now, not what it said when the link was made. That cuts both ways: a paragraph you regret is visible as soon as you write it.

Stop sharing takes the page down everywhere and the link stops working for everyone who has it. That is final for that link: sharing the notebook again mints a new one, which you will have to send to anyone who should still have access. While a share is live, sharing again simply hands you the link that already exists.
