Deep research and original-language study
Last updated 2026-10-30
Research is being rolled out gradually and may not yet be available in your account.
When a passage or a whole source raises a question that cannot be answered from the text alone, Omphalis runs cited research at two effort levels: Light research and Deep research. Light research gathers and checks external sources quickly; Deep research runs a multi-step investigation across primary witnesses, lexicons, and scholarly or technical literature, then verifies every claim against retrieved source text before delivering the report.
Before spending units on a broad or ambiguous request, the research intake offers a short clarify step with concrete angles tailored to the source, or lets you write your own direction. Once delivered, the report keeps your original wording alongside the clarified research question at the top of the popover or report page so you can always see how the output relates to what you asked.
For classical, biblical, historical, or non-English texts, you can ask for original-language study in Learn more or standalone research. The research pipeline consults primary-language witnesses, root forms, morphology, and attestations, and can present findings as prose, a comparison table, or a relationship diagram.
You can start research on a selected span with Learn more in the reader, or research an entire source item and open questions from the Research page in Library, where every report stays saved and returnable.
